A multicultural retreat in exotic serenity: interpreting temple stay experience using the Mandala of Health model

Temple stay is a creative form of religious tourism in Korea that offers an authentic local experience at a Buddhist temple. This study is to describe the experiences of international participants during their overnight temple stay. Based on field research with in-depth interviews, this study result indicates that participants regarded temple stay as a multicultural retreat in a religious and therapeutic setting to promote their ultimate wellbeing. In the intersection of culture, religion, and tourism, this study offers a framework to understand the essence of temple stay experience to modern individuals based on the Mandala of Health model.     

Residents’ recreational and social use of and perspectives on a World Heritage Site: Temple of Heaven,Beijing, China

Many heritage sites are shared by tourists and local residents. Possessing more familiarity and often a deeper understanding of local heritage meanings and values, residents are often considered to be more worthy users of the heritage resources. However, the recreational use of heritage resources by local residents, who are often portrayed and examined as service providers and impact receivers, is often neglected at heritage sites. This research identifies the use patterns, motivations, perceptions and experiences of local residents at Temple of Heaven World Heritage Site in Beijing, China. Research findings enhance understanding of the recreational use of residents and their perspectives on the heritage sites. Practical implications are generated to inform future planning and management decisions at heritage sites shared by local users and tourists.     

农村宗教信仰调研报告——以山西省太原市L村为例

当前在部分农村地区,宗教发展迅速,农民信徒数量众多,已成为不可忽视的一种现象。为了更好地了解我国农村宗教信仰情况,本人在山西太原南部的L村发放了21份问卷,并对问卷进行了相关处理得出了一些结论。     

城市文化特色街区旅游开发存在问题及优化对策——以南京夫子庙为例

城市文化特色街区一般都拥有丰厚的历史文化底蕴,在此基础上又具备旅游、观光、休闲和购物等功能,成为集城市代表性文化、商业发展于一体的城市地标性观光旅游、休闲娱乐场所。本文以南京夫子庙为例,在概述城市文化特色街区的基础上,分析其具有交通便利、文化深厚、商业氛围浓郁、民俗风情突出、名胜古迹众多等特征,进而总结其开发中存在的问题,针对问题提出优化发展对1策。作者通过实地走访调研,初步探讨了南京夫子庙的优化开发策略,以期为同类型的城市文化特色街区的优化开发提供参考意见。     

Vendor selection and the buying process

This paper reports the results of a study dealing with the vendor selection process in organizational buying. Purchasing managers in two different types of organizations assessed the importance of vendor attributes and buyer information sources in connection with two different buying tasks. Theoretical and managerial implications are discussed in connection with: (1) the relative importance of vendor attributes and buyer information sources; and (2) the influence that different buying tasks and different buying organizations have on the importance of vendor attributes and information sources.     

Reliability and cross-validity of trade-off analysis in an industrial setting

More than 200 applications of trade-off analysis now have been completed. A review of the literature uncovers only four sources that evaluate the reliability or validity, or both, of trade-off analysis using the concept evaluation approach. Detailed evaluations of trade-off analysis based on trade-off grid data are unavailable. This paper reports reliability and cross-validity experience using this approach.     

The Influence of Tourist Experience on Perceived Value and Satisfaction with Temple Stays: The Experience Economy Theory

Temple stays are emerging global cultural attractions that provide tourists with unique experiences and influence perceptions of value and satisfaction. This study examines the influence of escape, entertainment, esthetic, and educational experiences on perceptions of functional and emotional values as well as tourist satisfaction with temple stays. The results of the study show that escape and entertainment experiences are important predictors of both functional and emotional values. Esthetic experience influences emotional value, whereas educational experience affects functional value. Both functional and emotional values influence tourist satisfaction. Theoretical and practical implications of the study results are discussed.     

论宝通禅寺宗教旅游的产业开发

宝通禅寺1983年被国务院确定为汉族地区佛教全国重点寺院以来,现已发展成为全国性的大寺,同时也成为了武汉市一个重要的旅游景点。其宗教旅游也对武汉的经济产生了重大影响。为了能收到更好的社会效应和经济收益,不仅要解决目前存在的交通条件差、导游缺乏培训等问题,还应立足长远、合理投资、扩建规模、开发新项目,使武汉市的旅游产业更加丰富多彩。     

试析《紫色》与《殿堂》跨文本语言策略的语用意义

美国当代黑人女作家艾丽丝.沃克的长篇小说《紫色》和《殿堂》中的主要人物和故事情节都相关,但同一个人在不同时期或不同小说里却使用截然不同的语言风格——美国黑人乡村口语和规范美国语。这种跨文本的语言策略客观地映射出黑人英语和黑人文学的发展轨迹,隐喻黑人和白人、边远群体和主流社会最终的融合、团结与平等,张扬出妇女主义的基本思想和作家渴求民族团结的美好愿望。     

山水与城市间的锚固点——杭州郊居山寺 在山水城市空间营造中的意义

以灵隐寺为代表的杭州郊居山寺，是杭州传承最久、地理位置最稳固的历史建筑组群，也是杭州清代以前历史建筑仅有的留存。它们既是城郊山地开发的文化核心，也是山与城市之间水体联系网络的山中“锚固点”。这些山中的联系终端，帮助杭州城与山寺及城郊诸山紧密连接为一体，而对这种“山·寺”-“水·联系纽带”-“城市”共生模式的分析，也有助于研究者把握山水城市的建设策略与规律。
